Reminder vs Family Bell

Back in October, a user named MazMaz asked about turning off a plant watering reminder that was driving them crazy across all of their devices. No one was able to provide an accurate solution and the thread was eventually closed without resolution.

I'm here today because the fix isn't about disabling a reminder. It's about disabling a Family Bell.

The family bell feature is in home - - > select your profile picture - - > Assistant Settings - - > Family Bell. These little reminders provide a list of tasks for the user to complete and help with watering your plants, waking children up in the morning, etc. They can be powerfully helpful, but also incredibly annoying.

So the next time you can't find that reminder, check to see if you have a Family Bell set up. And remember that they're specific to each user in the Home.

THANK YOU!! I have been trying to resolve the same issue and was disappointed the original thread was closed without a resolution.

Ive1 Here's some article you can visit and steps you can follow. Set and manage reminders, Edit and manage bell announcements.

 

  1. On a mobile device, open the Google Home app.
  2. On the upper right corner of the screen, tap the account icon > Assistant settings > Family Bell.
  3. At the bottom right of a bell announcement, tap the down arrow.
  4. Update the details for the bell announcement.

Android only: Customers can open Google Assistant settings with the voice command “Hey Google, open Assistant settings.”

 

Turn a bell notification on and off.

 

  1. On a mobile device, open the Google Home app .
  2. On the upper right corner of the screen, tap the account icon > Assistant settings > Family Bell.
  3. On the upper right corner of a bell announcement, tap to turn it on or off.
