Roku devices not linking to Google home

I have 5 tvs registered with my Roku account (2 Roku, 1 Chromecast using a stick, and 2 with sticks). All of the sticks are linked to Google Home. Neither of the Roku TVs are. It didn't bother me much until I replaced the living room TV with a Roku TV. Now I'm getting irritated. I've rebooted and reset, unlinked and linked, checked serial numbers, worked from the Roku side and the Google side, sifted through both help sites and even the manufacturers (1 is a TCL and the other a Philips).

H. E. L. P. ! ! !

A hopeful thanks in advance,

Thanks!

What ended up working was to unlink the entire Roku account from Home and then re-link it. Home then showed all 5 Roku devices and all are now working harmoniously with Home. Thanks again to all for your help.

Hi Merryann,

Thanks for posting.

Could you please verify if the issue that you're experiencing is with the TV that uses Chromecast? Also, since you mentioned Roku, you can check this:

To use the Roku Action on Google, you need to link your Roku account to your Google account using the Google Home mobile app on your iOS or Android device.

  1. Launch the Google Home mobile app on your smartphone
  2. Tap the plus icon Add or plus icon from google home app in the top corner
  3. Tap Set up device from the list
  4. Select Have something already set up?
  5. Tap the magnifying glass icon search or magnifying icon on Roku Home app and search for Roku
  6. Select Roku from the list
  7. When prompted, sign in to your Roku account
  8. Select the Roku devices you wish to use with Google, or choose Select all to link all your Roku devices
  9. Select Continue and follow the prompts to return to the Google Home app

Hope this helps.

Best,

Princess

Thank you. The 2 TVs are not Chromecast, they are Roku. The ones that are Chromecast are fine.

I tried the add devices in Google Home, but only 3 show up, not the 5 that are listed in the Roku account. The only thing I can think of to do is to totally unlink the Roku account and relink it. But I'm a bit skittish about doing that because if there's a problem, I lose the ones that are already linked.

Hey Merryann,

Got it. Since you're only having trouble linking your Roku to your Google Home app, try resetting your Roku device and relink it. You might also want to check with Roku support or additional help.

Thanks,
