Smart 3 way switch quirk

I installed a Gosund 3 way switch to control a light a light in my house. There are currently (2) 3 way switches that controls this light and I replaced the one that was closest to the main electric Box. I had no problems installing it and the light functions well, the quirk is that you can only ask Google to turn the light off. When you do this it will cycle through the light turning on and then the light turning off. Asking Google to turn the light on does nothing.  I can live with this and I've told my wife to ask Google always to turn the light off to cycle it back-and-forth but I will admit it bothers me.

Thanks for reaching out and we're sorry for the inconvenience — let's figure this out.

 

A few questions: was it working before? What's the native app you're using in controlling your switches? Also, are you getting any message from your Google Home when you turn it on? 

 

Give these steps a try:

 

  • Make sure your devices are within 15-20 feet of your router and assigned to the same room.
  • Reboot your switches, Google Home and router to refresh the connection.
  • Try renaming your switches.
  • If the issue persists, try resetting your Google Home.
