can't activate Google Nest Mini

So here I am, finally deciding to jump into the Google ecosystem. Got my Flagship Pixel 6 Pros and they are pretty good. Thermostats and all sorts of cool stuff, lets go! Well Google, how about you make your ecosystem actually work with its products. I started off getting two Nest Mini's and was going to build from there. Well, as we all know now Google doesn't know how to make the Gen 2 Nest Mini's work with the Mobile that THEY DESIGNED AND BUILT. So the solution is to use another mobile??? That is not acceptable, Google needs to fix the issue or replace the nest mini devices that are not compatible with the Pixel phones. Please let me know how to resolve this issue without using an Apple phone. I think it is very misleading of Google not to tell consumers on the package that the device is not compatible with your Pixel phones and you aren't doing anything about it. Please follow up with us and let us know what Google is going to do about this problem.

Google Nest claims they're working on this problem. One customer was able to install by temporarily turning off Wi-Fi on their Pixel phone, but this didn't work for another customer:

It seems Google Nest has known about this problem since at least June 6, 2022:
