wake words TOO LONG!

Yotamik
Community Member

I find that the wake phrase of Google Assistant is to too long. there's too many vowels and tbf I often retrieve to using my phone touch screen because using my fingers to trigger something (turn lights on, set a timer, etc) feels quicker and smoother. somehow commanding something on Google assistant is a tedious process. I tried to use the shortest possible trigger words for my routines but adding to that an OK GOOGLE makes it inefficiently long. I kinda wish to be and to literally just give it a shout. the communication with this software isn't a compelling experience even though in theory using our voice can be a very efficient way to manage your smart home.

Hi Yotamik,

Voice detection wake words generally need to be at least 3 syllables long.

Although Google already have certain quick phrases available on the Google Nest Hub Max and some Pixel phones that don't require any wake words.

Hey Yotamik,

We don't have any news to share about when customizing hotword to be supported on Google Home. We're always looking for ways to improve and we appreciate your feedback. We'd suggest that you send feedback using your devices by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback," or by following the steps on this link

Let me know if I can assist with anything else, otherwise I’ll be locking this thread after 24 hours.

Best,

Alex
