Best camera notifications not working

All of my outdoor cameras are missing key events like notifying me when people are in my yard. Not all the time but enough that I’m considering switching to a different camera system completely. I’ve triple checked that notifications are on.

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. No worries, we'll check this out. Just a few questions: What type of Nest Camera are you using? Have you tried setting up Activity zones on your Camera? If not, Here is the link on how to set up an Activity zone.

They are the old outdoor wired cameras (installed in 2017). I have activity zones setup but several times when I’m standing in the yard/zone it misses sending the notification or even flagging it as a person in the app.

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. Nest Cameras are designed to alert you when they detect important activity so you don’t get bombarded by notifications. While your Nest Camera may notify you when it first detects activity, it shouldn’t send additional notifications as the activity continues.

For example, if you don’t get a notification when someone walks in front of your Nest Camera, it may have been because it already detected similar activity moments before.

Try checking your Nest Camera’s video history for activity your Nest Camera records. That way, you can easily view everything your Nest Camera has picked up, even if you didn’t receive an alert.
