I have added a valid credit card onto the account but it won’t take so I can’t add Nest Aware Subscription.

I am terribly sorry to hear that you have had issues trying to add a credit card for your Nest Aware subscription! I would try again, but first power cycle your device, and then try once more to add it. I have an article here that could help you out with the process. You can find the article here.
