Hello
I have 3 nest outdoor cameras ( 1st generation) and an indoor camera ( recently bought).
The 3 outdoor cameras are on the Nest and Google app and the indoor camera just on google’s app.
my problem is when trying to set up face recognition, on the Google app I can do it for the indoor camera but it doesn’t show, or allow me to setup the other cameras. In the Nest app, again there are no settings for me to set up face recognition.
I have a Nest Aware Plus subscription.
I’m baffled, can anyone help, please
Mark

We don't use the familiar face feature, but don't you have a "Familiar faces" option under Settings for each 1st gen camera in the Google Nest app?

In the Nest app I go to settings then Nest Aware, whilst in the Nest Aware page it shows Familiar Face detection but when you tap on it, all it does is tell you what Familiar Face Detection does.
Thanks Anyway

As I mentioned, we do NOT use the familiar face detection feature, but I discovered that the Settings | Familiar faces option is only available in the Google Nest app for each of our 1st gen Google Nest Hello Doorbells, but NOT for any of our 1st gen indoor or outdoor cameras.
However, if we go to the Google Home app and go to Settings | Subscriptions | Nest Aware | Familiar face detection and then select "Choose cameras", all of our 1st gen and 2nd gen cameras and doorbells are listed EXCEPT for our one 1st gen indoor camera.
I have no idea why it works this way, or whether it is SUPPOSED to work this way.
So, for us, we can turn on familiar face detection in the Google Nest app only for our 1st gen Google Nest Hello Doorbells, and we can turn on familiar face detection in the Google Home app for all of our 1st and 2nd gen cameras and doorbells except for our 1st gen indoor camera. Strange.
(We are NOT on the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app, but we have migrated our Nest Account to a Google Account [back in 2020] and so are logging onto the Google Nest app using the "Sign in with Google" option.)
