How to delete old credit card

simonmetz
Community Member

There have been many posts about adding cards but only one about deleting an old outdated card but the community "expert" never answers the question. When I go to my payment methods I can add a new one but the is NO option to delete an old card. I have an old card listed that was compromised so my bank changed my number, I must be able to delete this.  When I log into my Google account (not Nest) I only see one card, not the three I see in my Nest account.

I have a personal email account but with my own domain and Google will NOT ALLOW me to agregate all my Nest Aware under this email address. they consider a custom domain a business account strange logic). Why make things so complicated ???

Hello simonmetz,

Thanks for posting in our Community. I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. No worries; I’m here to help.

A few questions: is your account already migrated to Google? Was the card that you want deleted linked to a Nest Aware subscription? If yes, was the subscription a legacy Nest Aware subscription or a new Nest Aware subscription?

For cards that are linked to a legacy Nest Aware subscription, follow these steps to delete the payment method from the account:

  1. Go to https://goo.gle/45B9iaR.
  2. If you have a migrated account, select "sign in with Google," otherwise select "sign in with Nest."
  3. Above Subscriptions, tap Back to Account Summary.
  4. On the right side of Payment Methods, tap Manage Payments.
  5. Tap the Delete payment method button on the card that you want deleted.

For cards that are used with the new Nest Aware subscription, follow these steps instead:

  1. Go to https://goo.gle/2scTmOT. Ensure that you're signed in with the same account you used for Nest Aware.
  2. At the top, click Payment Methods.
  3. Next to the payment method you want to remove, click Remove, then tap Remove again to confirm.

Keep in mind that if you remove a payment method while you have an active Nest Aware subscription, https://goo.gle/2scTmOT requires you to set up an alternate payment method. If you want to remove the payment method to make sure the card doesn’t get charged, you can stop the auto-renewal instead. Make sure to renew your subscription before it expires to ensure that you don’t lose your recordings.

I hope that helps.

Best,

Lance

as usual, Google support scripts are not accurate. The page you directed me to for legacy Nest Aware subscriptions (https://goo.gle/45B9iaRdelivers a 404, the page doesn't exist anymore. Google is forcing users to move to Google. There is NO WAY to delete a credit card in a Nest Subscription anymore.

Please see the screenshot below which is what I see when I log into my Nest Aware subscription. There is NO way to delete it. It would be nice if at least Google was truthful to its customers and provided accurate support.

Lance, that takes me to the exact same page that I screenshotted.

On that page it is not possible to update credentials on the current card (Like exp date or pin) and you cannot delete old cards. I have 20 yrs exp in digital platforms and tech. It's very simple, Google doesn't care about legacy nest Aware customers. They deleted all of that functionality which EVERY ecom site has to force customers to move to Google.
