Nest Cam Battery

RMForlenza

I currently have five (5) Nest Cameras, four (4) indoor IQ and one (1) wired doorbell. I just purchased a Nest Cam Battery.

I am not able to view the Nest Cam Batter on my Nest Home website. I only appear to be able to view the history on my phone, far less than ideal. It appears I can download events but I see no functionality to download a clip like I can do on the Nest page. I don't want to download a complete event or be limited to an event. I need to define the start and stop time for the desired clip and download it.

The Home App, where things are migrating to provides no ability to do anything but download events. This is nearly worthless. Google has sucked us into their ecosphere and then takes away all of the features that led to our spending lots of money on Google's products.

Sadly, you have discovered what we discovered 7 months ago (along with many others since) when we bought a Google Nest Camera (Battery). The new 2021 cameras and doorbells work only in the Google Home app, while our older cameras and doorbells continue to work in the Google Nest app and on the home.nest.com website.

This Sept. 29, 2021 blog from Google Nest's GM gives Google Nest's rationale for this 2-app approach, along with considerable customer reaction. If you look at the other "blogs" in this forum, you'll see that Google is making other changes, but is still not addressing the Google Nest camera fiasco, in spite of promises to do so.
