I received an email that Google is increasing the price of my Nest Aware by 25%.
I called Nest Aware support to ask for the reason and what functionality is being added to justify the price increase. Instead of Nest Aware support I was connected to Doorbell support. They claimed to have just heard about the price increase themselves and knew nothing about it. They then got very rude and hung up on me when I asked to speak with Nest Aware support.
Has anyone else gotten any answers from Google?

I just got through to Nest Aware support on the phone.
They were caught off guard by the price increase themselves and have no answers. All they could do was apologize. They seem to be getting slammed by calls about this. This explains why the Doorbell support got rude and hung up on me when I asked to speak with Nest Aware support.

Its absolute BS. They have increased their price twice in less than a year, and the reasoning they are giving is even more horse crap. It far outpaces bloody inflation....this is just price gouging at this point for no additional features or innovation, plus very low budget features to begin with for Nest Aware....I suppose someone has to pay for their acquisition of NEST. Disgusting on the part of google.

The announcement of the 30+% price increase is a shocker. Will there be a discount for an annual subscription? A discount is common with other online subscriptions and I haven't been able to find if such a plan will be an option as well.

Google's greed knows no bounds. Not only are they using my data, but they keep raising subscription prices because they can. I just got an email saying that Nest Aware is going up from $80 to $100 a year. Well, it's time to look for another platform, another camera, and another doorbell. Nest's service and app are bad enough without having to pay more money on top of it.

Nest Aware takes two apps (Nest and Home) to run across all my devices. There hasn't been an actual update to the service in years. And now it's going to cost 30% more. For what? Do better Google.

I have bought thousands of dollars of Nest + Google devices for home automation, multi-room audio, security, and surveillance. After years spending time troubleshooting pointless, repetitive issues with their hardware, I have still supported the ecosystem and have had hopes for the future. Google has let me down time and time again for their abandonment of almost great ideas and hardware that just decides it doesn't want to work normally after a firmware update.
I'm done. This last 33% F-You price increase just because you can is enough. I'm offloading everything and I'm looking forward to a new project with better reviewed, less expensive hardware that I don't have to scream at. I'm so tired of being disappointed by Google.

Amen. Google acquired Nest 11 years ago and has done very little to advance the ecosystem, which remains buggy and lacks for new functionality that customers have been requesting for years. To Google, this is an easy money grab to boost profits. I hope they lose significant market share for this nonsense.

With the "Nest Aware" price increases just announced, a "Nest Aware" subscription will be $100/year and a "Nest Aware Plus" subscription will be $200/year. That's the same as Ring's Standard ($99.99/year) and Premium ($199.99/year) subscription plans.

Wow, Google with their huge profits slapping a massive increase from €60 to €100. Pure greed for a service that has been very buggy since I bought into it. The app on iOS is terrible and has an awful delay with the doorbell notifications. So now instead of getting €60 from me a year you will be getting €0! Smart business as usual Google. I promise you this will be the last time I buy any Nest/Google hardware or service, I'll be going elsewhere.

So after receiving the 33% subscription price increase today, I immediately cancelled it and i'm looking at alternatives. Quite prepared to dump the Google kit I bought as it will be useless and nobody else will want it at these prices.
Increasing prices like this can only indicate that Google does not care for its customer base and does not want our custom. So be it.

In the netherlands we get a 50% price increase for nest aware plus, from 120 up to 180 euro per year, after getting 20% increase last year! This is absurd and ill be looking for alternatives like unify aswell. I'd rather pay more upfront than be strong-armed into over 50% price bumps yearly.

Hey Google,,,, this is VERY discouraging news to hear today. I think this is going to be my jumping off point and on to another manufacturer's camera system.
You are now charging $200/year for Nest Aware plus at a time when so many other camera companies have released better cameras and home-base units that make it so that no yearly subscription is needed for virtually the same functionality.
And on top of this increase you still offer VERY outdated cameras with terrible night vision image quality. And on top of that with all your AI promises I still get a lot of false alerts of PEOPLE because of shadows of trees on the ground blowing in the wind.
And reading through the history on this user forum you still have many dissatisfied customers with the way the Google Home app works compared to the previously WELL LOVED Nest app.
And while I'm at it let's talk about the shear disaster that happens when someone needs to change the WIFI name and password. People have been complaining about this for well over 6 years and Google does nothing to improve the back end to make this easy and manageable.
Sorry Google, but I have to be done after being a major loyal user for over 10 years and suggesting to my friends they get this product. Wow... a very sad moment.

Today I was informed about a 67% !!! price increase. This is how Google serves customers that have been loyal for many years? I advised others to purchase Google products over the years but I am now regretting it. Will start to look for alternatives, even when it takes to replace the current Google hardware with something else. What a bad experience...... Will also start investigating to phase out Google Workplace in my business with 6000 global users and move back to MSFT.

Totally agree. I'm dumping all my subscription kit from Google and looking at moving to Tapo in the UK. Much more keenly priced and the kit seems better too.

Just came here to express my outrage about incredibly high price increase.
The Google Home app development seems stalled and the only interesting features are hidden in preview program geolocked to the US. This combined with zero product roadmap being publicly available and no real announcement of new hardware or features available in GA makes me really question my commitment to google ecosystem.

Wow slowly increasing the price for what other than greed while the service you offer hasn’t changed since the last increase. But what I have noticed is a decreases in service and value !! Sounds about right though like a typical corporation does to the working class family that can’t afford to spend hard earned money on a fancy high tech security system or security firm to protect them like the rich is able to do. I started out when it was just Nest and loved the service and affordability, now that it’s GOOGLE NEST nothing is better or improved other than the price on products and price of your service This will definitely change things for my family and I moving forward . It's a complete shame that, as you said, there has been not only no improvements to the service but limitations in all the specs we had in the past. 40 € increase is a complete armed robbery, with no sense and for the only reason to make more money. I will remove the nest as soon as possible.
