So someone gained access to my google account giving them access to nest. I pay nest to hold onto my data for 60 days but they had it deleted to hide their theft.  How do I get my data back?

Hi Mattmaxson,

Oh no! Thank you for letting us know. While we make sure that your security is our top priority by adding multiple layers of protection, we encourage you to change your account password and check your two-step verification settings to prevent this from happening. Here's how: Add 2-step verification to your account on the Nest app.

If your video history got deleted it will be deleted from your cloud storage as well. There’s no guarantee that it can be retrieved but let’s give these steps a try:

  1. Go to https://goo.gle/2xYDHFv.
  2. Under create a new export/archive, click select data to include the products were selected all by default. Click deselect all and scroll down and look for Nest.
  3. Select advanced settings and select video history.
  4. Scroll down, click next step.
  5. Select create export/archive.
  6. Confirm it is in-progress.

The time it takes to download your Nest data would depend on the file size. Once the download is complete you'll receive an email notification.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

JT
