2022 US Compliance - UL 217v8

Does anyone know if the current Gen 2 model is compliant with UL 217v8, the new US code for smoke detectors? A Wirecutter review from January mentioned that Nest will be making an update this year to ensure compliance with this new code.

Good question.

The required compliance date was extended to June 2022 so there is still time.

Thanks. So does that mean the current model for sale is not compliant and I should wait a couple months to buy one?

The Nest Protect complies with UL 217 8th edition.
