After power outage nest protect gen 2 on version 3.6.0.8 doesn’t connect to my WiFi

1 of 4 devices keeps beeping even after battery change and none appear to remain on the WiFi that they have always been on served by Google pro 6e devices.

when I try to reset the WiFi connect to any of nest protect devices they all go in a  forever loop trying to connect and I eventually give up after 7 mins

i noticed that the last software upgrade of March 2025 was supposed have solved WiFi connective issue but by my account this hasn’t been the case

what can I do short of risking factory reset and reinstall.

Same here. Hard reset everything and can't be added to the nest account, gives the the p09 error. Read a long thread here about this error. This firmware seems bugged. How we can downgrade it? How we can get official support? Thanks!

Hi Folks!

Thanks for your post on the community!I see that you're experiencing issues with your Nest Protect 2nd gen, specifically with Wi-Fi connectivity and the appearance of error P09. I understand that this is not the experience you were expecting, but I appreciate your efforts in performing troubleshooting steps and the information shared. I'll be glad to assist you with this.

First, let's try manually connecting your Nest Protect to the Wi-Fi network via the Nest app by following these steps:

  • On the Nest app home screen, tap Settings Nest.
  • Select your Protect.
  • Go to Device options  Wi-Fi connection.
  • Tap Next. Nest app will attempt to connect to your Protect, and it will start looking for nearby Wi-Fi networks.
  • Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password. Your Protect should automatically reconnect.

Please keep me posted on the results! I'll be waiting for your answer.

Best regards,

Debora

Thanks!

"On the Nest app home screen, tap Settings Nest." Where is that?. I don't see any "Protect" under the regular settings.
