After router upgrade, App can not connect P023

Nest fellows good evening,

I have three Nest Protect devices 2nd generation, router was changed due fiber optic upgrade, I changed the password of the network, but now we can not get connected, two of them still with old settings, one of them I reset it to factory defaults, I try to add it but never Wake up, same happens to other two, popup message is “Something went wrong ,the App is having trouble connecting to the Nest Product, P023”. I have other smart receptacles that are connected to 2.4GHz network and are working, I also confirmed with a Laptop, I also reset the router and tried to setup one close to the router with no success. I did a try with my Ipad connected also in 2.4GHz, same results, can you advice?

This is what i read with my Laptop,

Protocol  Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n)

Security type  WPA2-Personal

Hi Tajin2310,

Uh-oh! Based on the information you provided, it seems that you are experiencing difficulties connecting your Nest Protect devices to your new Wi-Fi network after changing the router and password. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Confirm that your Nest Protect devices are compatible with the Wi-Fi network standard being used by your new router (Wi-Fi 4, also known as 802.11n). Although Nest Protect devices are designed to work with standard Wi-Fi networks, it's worth double-checking compatibility to ensure there are no compatibility issues.
  2. Since you've already reset one of the Nest Protect devices to factory defaults, you can try resetting the other devices as well. To do this, press and hold the button on each Nest Protect device until the light turns blue. This will reset the device and allow you to set it up as new.
  3. Follow the initial setup process for each Nest Protect device using the Nest app. Make sure you are using the latest version of the app. During the setup, ensure that you are connecting to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and entering the correct password.
  4. Try setting up one of the Nest Protect devices in close proximity to the router to ensure a strong Wi-Fi signal during the setup process. This can help eliminate any potential interference or signal strength issues.
  5. Double-check your router's settings to ensure that it is configured to support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connections and is not set to block or restrict certain devices. Additionally, ensure that the router's security settings (WPA2-Personal) match the security settings you are entering during the setup process on the Nest app.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe
