All nest smoke alarms are offline and will not connect to wifi

I have four nest smoke alarms. About a year ago, they went offline for some reason. They still work as smoke alarms but I cannot connect with them via the app. I stood 1 foot away from the device and the app just kept spinning. The modem/router was about 15 feet away and working since all my computers were attached to it and working. I removed the device from the app then tried to connect it again. I scanned the QRC but it still could not connect. The blue light is on but the app will not connect. I removed the app and reinstalled it. I disconnected power to the device and tried to connect it, but nothing. I tried two other of the smoke alarms. The app was not able to connect to any of them. Wifi is working, bluetooth is on, local network is turned on for Nest. This should not be this hard.

HI folks,

I'm sorry for the delayed response and I appreciate you've tried finding a fix. Let's sort this out.

Try the troubleshooting steps here:

  1. Reset all your Nest Protects to default. Here's your guide.
  2. Have them placed next to each other close to the router before attempting to set up.
  3. Then, add them back to the Nest App.

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Mark
