Can't connect Nest Protect to Wi-Fi

Dejus

I recently purchased two Nest Protect smoke detectors, but am unable to get them set up.

When I go through the setup procedure in the Nest iOS app, it connects to the Wi-Fi (I can see on my router that it does successfully connect), but after doing the "testing Wi-Fi" step it always gives the super-helpful error "something went wrong" with error code "P007(3.9)".

After the first attempt failed, I looked for answers, and have tried rebooting my router, connecting to two different routers / networks, including one that is 2.4 GHz only, and does have IPv6 enabled, since I gather those are two stumbling blocks. But I still can't get it to connect.

I also tried deleting and re-downloading the app, and erasing all settings on the device, without any luck.

Is there any solution?

Since nobody has any suggestions, I'm going to try buying a Google Nest Wi-Fi router to act as a supplementary network for the Nest Protects. If the Google Nest Protect can't connect to a Google Nest Wi-Fi, there's something very wrong with the universe.

I have 5 nest protect devices. Installed two in the barn and stayed online for a month. Installed three more at the house, soon as I did, the two in the barn went offline and won’t return. I did setup again and made sure wifi was good, says it connects then immediately disconnects.

so I have three on fine. The two in the barn have 2 AP’s within about 10 feet of the units. (Ubiquiti Wi-Fi 6 units) again were online before with no change except the three new adds in a different area.

my only thought is to provision them, for some reason they needed to be close to my nest connect that came with my door lock. Wondering if since they setup with that close it’s required now? Doesn’t explain how they stayed connected for a month and only went off with the three new units though.

anyways anyone have ideas here??

all nest protects were purchased directly from google as new about 1.5 months ago (45 ish days)

Similar problem here (have 3), treid several times to setup, reiniciated protect devices, factory reset them (they keep they're name btw?), But still having issues with 2 of 3 devices.

I fixed mine. I had to walk it to the main house and remove from account and re add while close to the keyless door lock “connect” device and re add.

no where does it say these require a connect, but I’m thinking if it detects it, it uses it somehow. Perhaps a software bug. Once added I walked it to the barn and has been fine since.

Thanks, I'll give it a try with my max hub (which seems to be necessary and cámara on (the why about the cam.... unknown)
