Buongiorno, le batterie di uno dei miei Nest Protect hanno avuto un consuno anomalo, meno di 5 anni. Mentre gli altri comrpati prima sono ancora carichi. E' normale? E' capitato anche ad altri?

Grazie

Hi @S_C,

Thanks for posting in this community! It sounds like one of your Nest Protects is experiencing higher battery consumption than the others, especially since your older units are still charged. That's definitely concerning, but don't worry, I'm here to help you with this!

To provide you with the appropriate troubleshooting steps, I'd like to ask you a few questions:

  • Have you received any notifications about this issue in the app where you control this device (Nest app or Google Home app)?
  • What type of batteries are you using?
  • Have you noticed any colored lights on the front of your Nest Protect?
  • What is the software version of the Nest Protect?
  • Did you try to remove the batteries and re-seated them?

Visit our Help Center to learn more about Replace Nest Protect's batteries.

Please feel free to share any additional details you think might be relevant.

Best regards,

Eduardo

Hi @S_C,

Thanks so much for keeping me updated! Based on this information, I'd like to ask you the following so we can proceed:

  • Can you send me a photo of the notification you received in the app where you control your Nest Protect?
  • Can you hear any message coming from this device, or just a chirp?

Let's start by checking the following:

  • Check the battery level in the Nest app or in the Google Home app and send me a photo of this.
    • Nest app: Open the app > Select the Protect that you want to check > The battery status and the last time the battery level was checked by Protect’s Self Test should appear on this page.
    • Google Home app: Open the app > Tap Favorites or Devices > Tap your Smoke & CO alarm’s tile and select the device name > The battery status and the last time the battery level was checked by Protect’s Self Test should appear on this page.
  • Please replace the batteries using Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA (L91) batteries.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Eduardo
