Cost out of line

Replacing a gen 1 protect. I bought and returned 4 units one at a time to replace a protect that expires next week. I returned each one because 10%-20% of the shelf life was already gone. For a $120+tax item I want to get what I pay for not a shorter life. To solve my issue I bought a $40 dollar kiddie combo smoke/co zwave . Between this and Alexa listen for a alarm sound I have all the features of nest protect for 1/3 the cost.
yes they also have a shelf life but I pay pennys instead of dollars for each of the shortened month of shortened life.

the turns of inventory is higher on the kiddie so they don’t sit on the shelf expiring and they are rated higher than nest by consumers report for decking a fire. Nest protect a ‘cool’ but I want the best product when it comes to protecting my family.
