Drywall work is setting off Nest Protect

I’m doing drywall work and the dust keeps setting off my Nest Protect. I don’t want to keep pushing the stop button on the alarm. Any suggestions?

Hi,

The Nest Protects like other smoke detectors are sensitive to dust. I imagine your drywall work is creating an extra dusty environment. Nothing you can do but try to keep the dust away from your Protect with a fan or vacuum etc.

If you are carrying out dusty works you should either take the Nest down and remove it to a non-dusty location or cover it with a dust protector. Plastic overshoes work in a pinch. Remember to uncover it once work is complete.
