Google,
the Nest Protect has the ability to detect motion, and there is a hack that will allow the owner of a Protect to reach an API to receive alerts on motion, but the hack breaks when there's a reset of a session and the API key is reset. If Google was to open access to this sensor activity as a feature it could be used as a home security motion detection, replacing analog motion detection systems. Are there any plans for Google to open the motion detection sensor in the Nest Protect, and if not, is there a reason Google can provide on why it's locking its customers out of the same data it collects from the Protects?
