Google Nest Protect connectivity issues with Eero wifi

I have Eero wifi set up, with Ipv6 enabled.  I did temporarily shut off 5 GHz since the fire alarm needs 2.4 GHz to connect.  I keep getting a "P006 (3.10)" error message.  I tried restarting the router, no go.  Any other suggestions?

Hi @lwitty1,

Thank you so much for reaching out to the community! I'm sorry about this P006 (3.10) error you're getting when trying to connect your Nest Protect to Eero Wi-Fi, especially since you've already taken some important troubleshooting steps and invested your time trying to fix it. I'm here to help!

This error is related to the distance between your Nest Protect, your phone, and your router. According to this, I'd like to ask you a few questions:

  • Are you using the Google Home app or the Nest app for the Nest Protect?
  • How far is the device from the router?
  • What is the make and model of the phone you are using to connect your Nest Protect to Wi-Fi?
  • Do you own any other Nest devices? If so, are they experiencing Wi-Fi issues as well?
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the device you want to pair?

In the meantime, I'd like to share some troubleshooting steps that might help you resolve this issue:

  • Verify that you have the recommended settings for Nest Products.
  • Please be close to your router with your phone and Nest Protect when trying to connect it to Wi-Fi.
  • Double-check that the password you're entering is correct.

Please feel free to share any additional details you think might be relevant.

Best regards,

Eduardo
