So I've migrated to Google Home from nest due to wwn being disabled soon. At the time of the migration, i didn't realize that my Nest protect was offline and didn't get added. How do i retroactively add my protect to Google Home?

Hi folks,

Thanks for chiming in, @NestJoke

@AmynB, thanks for the post. We don't have anything else to share right now on when the timeline for Nest Protect availability in the Google Home app will be, but stay tuned for more news and updates. Right now, you can still use your Nest app to control your Nest Protect. We'll also take your feedback as an opportunity to learn and to be able to provide a better experience in the future. Feel free to create a new thread if you have more questions or other concerns, and we'll be happy to help.

All the best,

Zoe

Hi everyone,

@mowyllie, I'd like to jump in here and check if you've seen Zoe's response.

@sweez and @NestJoke, we understand your thoughts. We'll take it as a feedback,  we're always looking for ways to improve.

Let us know if you have additional questions or concerns.

Best,

The ultimate stupidity is that if you buy a new camera (indoor 2.0) the camera won't work with the Nest App.  Since protects don't work with google home, nor alexa, nor smartthings (and they used to) I now have to use TWO apps.  They should at least allow their new cameras to work with Nest app.

I miss Nest

I tried to open my Nest app this morning and it tells me that it has been discontinued.  Now I have no connectivity at all.

Hi mowyllie,

Oh no! Sorry to hear that. Are you able to post a screenshot of the message that appeared on the app so we can take a closer look?

Best,

Zoe

It really shouldn't be an "additional feature".  This all worked before Google came along and did a terrible job taking over from Nest.

Shouldn't sell protects for $200 with "Google" on them if the don't work with Google Home.

Cameras shouldn't be called "Nest cam" if they don't work with Nest app.

Miss my old drop cam that you guys decided to obsolete despite it functioning jus fine (and is smaller and lighter than the indoor nest cam 2.0)

Feeling more than a little ripped off
