I assume you meant to categorize this under nest aware , as nest protect are smoke alarms .   Which nest aware plan do you have ?  As their are different tiers, with aware being 30 days , and aware plus being 60 days.   If you do not have aware plus then you would not be able to see any event history over 30 days .

You can download snippets of video from nest yes

Well no, but it does send you an alert, which you can view through the app instantly , and download should you want it.  Would make no sense to email every alert (I get about 50 a day)

@Ashepherdson it would depend on whether you want to keep every event for longer than 30 days as OP wanted. 

You get 50 a day, but someone else might only receive 10 a day or have unlimited storage.
