I cannot add a Nest Protect to my account

I cannot add the 2015 Nest Protect 21A4 to my account (firmware version 3.0.0.16). The Nest Protect is new, but is from July 2015. I get an error when it attempts to set up the Nest network. The error is P000 (0.65).  I have an IPv6 network with multicast enabled, broadcasting 2.4 Ghz from WiFi access points.  I've performed multiple factory resets with the same result.  My Android Nest app (on my Pixel 😎 is the most recent version.   

I see one user is experiencing the same issue with old Protect firmware and no way to update. (@Kreg0)  I suspect I am experiencing the same issue.

I appreciate your time and effort in completing the troubleshooting steps described in the post. To continue addressing the situation, could you please help me by answering some questions?

  • What’s the color of the LED status light?

  • How far is the device from the router?

  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the device you want to pair?

  • Have you tried to pair the Nest Protect with another mobile device?

  • Could you try to use another home structure to connect this device?

  • Have you tried to connect the Nest device with a mobile hotspot?
