Infinite Carbon Moxoide alarm

My Nest Protect,  has detected Carbom Monoxide inside the cabin of my boat - and this was correct detection, as at that time it detected boat motors exhaust.

But that situation was resolved 7 hours ago. Nest protect hardawre (Protect) now is not indicating any issue, not flashing red/white circles. It quiet for hours.

However, my app on IPhone and Ipad keep showing "Cardon Monoxide" alaram. 

In the same time, My wife's app (also Ipad and Iphone) is also connected to the same system, but properly stopped to show alarams long time ago.

What is happening and how to get my Iphone and Ipad app back to reality? How to make them stop showing unexisting alaram?

Before we continue, I need to know some information about the issue to provide you with the best resolution:

  • Did the issue happen out of the box or after installation?
  • How long did the issue occur after the installation?
  • Any previous events with Nest Protect such as, false or legitimate alarms, chirps, or other unexpected behavior?
  • Is the Nest Protect near any air vents, fans, windows, or other sources of air flow that could bring dust or foreign particles into the detection chamber?
  • Where is the Nest Protect installed (room, ceiling, or wall)?
  • Number of light sources near Nest Protect.

Once you have the information, I will be ready to assist you!

Hello Debora, thanks for ansering me.

1 Issue happen 1 year aftr installation

2 Issue is not related to installation. 

3 Yes, at least once.

4 It is incide locked boat cabin, no open windows, no open hatches. Events happen when everything was closed for quite some time.

5 At the wall, at kitchen area of the boat. Not directly at stove. No active appliances when it happen not before it happen.

6 Irrelevant. There are few LED, but they all was off at the moment of event and some time before the event.

P.S. Issue was gone ~~ 10 hours after it happen. All this time both Nest Protect and Iphone was withing reliable internet access. I also have Nest cameras installed at the boat - they all was workign just fine and were fully accessible during the events.

Quesiton: does nest or google have some products for boats? It seems like nest protect is not well fit boat environment. Other ppl also have issues with Nest on boats.

I need to monitor for smoke, gasoline fumes, carbon monoxide etc.

(Camers work just fine)

That's a good question! For the moment, we only offer Home products, although our products may be adapted to certain types of environments. Remember that it is recommended to use them in your home.

At the moment, we do not offer products specifically for boats, but thank you for your comment! We will take this into account to be able to give you and our clients an incredible experience.
