I have been having issues with my Google Nest Protect since May 7th,2023. I have Three total Google Nest Protects in the house. The one that gives me issues is my upstairs one. I replaced the batteries (with all the same new lithium batteries) on May 7th when the alert when off. Then on June 24th they were low again, and I replaced them once again... then again on June 28th, again July 9th, again July 14th, again Sept 20th, again Oct 10th and now It going off again even after replacing them last night. It has been less than 24hrs.
I have no issues with any of the other Nest and have not had to replace those batteries. I checked for updates, and Reset the Nest. Does not seem to fix this issue.
Any solutions?

Definintely sounds like something defective with that one Nest, you should reach out for a replacement it seems to me.

Do you have a digital volt meter? If so check the battery voltage both of new ones you put in and those that come out when you get the low battery notification. Need to know if they are actually being depleted or if the voltage level sensor in the Protect is off. Please confirm that something is not triggering the Path Light for extended periods and depleting the battery. Is this a battery or wired version of Protect?

Thanks for you response, Yes i do have one and did check it. I also swap batteries from other Nest Devices to the defected one and still get the notification and when I out those batteries back in the other Nest it works good as normal. Also This is the Battery Version, not the Wired.

Hello everyone,
@vsantanajr, thanks for getting back to us. Both battery and wired Protect require Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA (L91) batteries. Just a reminder, Don’t use rechargeable or alkaline batteries. If you do, they will quickly drain and will need to be replaced soon after installing them. Kindly take a photo of the batteries and share them here. Looking forward to your response.
I appreciate the help, justsam.

Thank you, however that was Zero Help. Why does taking picture of brand new batteries help this issue? I have use different brand and types of batteries. Still always the same issue

Just curious if you ever heard back from Google Support after filling out the form, and they were supposed to send you an email. Hopefully they didn't just tell you to change the batteries! Seems pretty clear the unit is defective. Something is depleting the batteries or the battery level sensor is off., either way needs to be replaced.

Hi Justsam,
Unfortunately at this time I still have had no word back or anything back. I am trying to reach out again today, this issue is still continuing at this time. I keep trying different tips and idea and still nothing.
