Nest Protect Battery has an IP but router can't see it and no ping returned

Hi,

I have 3 Nest Protects. 2 wired and one battery.

Both the wired Protects can be seen by the router (they have an IP) and return a ping.

The battery Protect has an IP according to the app but isn't seen by the router nor returns a ping.

The app confirms that all 3 are 'online'.

Please advise.

TIA,

John

Hi johnhedge,

Uh-oh! I'm sorry to hear that your thermostat can't connect to your router. Here are the steps you may try:

  1. Ensure strong and stable Wi-Fi signal in the area. The device may be inaccessible on the network due to weak or intermittent Wi-Fi connectivity.
  2. Check router settings to prevent blockage, and verify the unique IP address assigned to the device.
  3. Reconfigure the network settings on the device and remove it from your account in the Nest app.
  4. Restarting the device by briefly removing the batteries and reinserting them.
  5. If the issue persists, reconfigure the device's network settings and go through the setup process again to establish a new connection to your Wi-Fi network.

Let us know how it goes.

Best.

Zoe
