Hello, so I know that right now google nest is in the process of switching over first gen nest cameras and doorbells into the new google home app (which I have not gotten updated to yet) and I was wondering if the same thing will soon be happening to nest protect gen 2, or if it will happen?

Google hasn't made any announcements about Nest Protect in that respect yet unfortunately. Best thing to do is send this feedback directly to Google. You will not receive a response, unless Google need more details from you, however the team are still reading the feedback.

Nobody reada those feedback forms. They are a black hole to send customers to complain to.
Google still sells Nest Protects even though they are not supported and the nest app has not seen any development updates.

Google's army of apologists have been relentlessly posting these kinds of bot responses without EVER explaining why they are stubbornly refusing this universal, years-long plea. What is the actual technical reason if there even is one? People posting here are already, by nature of arriving, too smart for trite answers.

Hi folks,
We hear you. We're always looking for ways to improve, and we appreciate your feedback. Please be assured that our product team is working non-stop with different partners to bring the best to the Google Nest devices. So, please let our product team know about it by sending feedback. Currently, the best option is to use the Nest app to remotely control your Nest Protects.
In the meantime, I'll go ahead and lock this thread within 24 hours. If you run into any more questions in the future, please feel free to create a new thread.
Thanks for your help, @David_K.
All the best,
Zoe

I repeat what I wrote, which you strategically ignored with a bot-like response: "What is the actual technical reason if there even is one? People posting here are already, by nature of arriving, too smart for trite answers."
It is inappropriate to lock this thread because it is absolutely not resolved, and has not received an intelligent response from anybody.
If you or your A.I. responses need another phrasing of this problem: There is no obstacle to the requested integration besides Google's own internal refusal to comply with unanimous customer demand. Integrating Nest with Home is not optional.

Are you saying Nest Protect is from "partners" and not from Google itself??? Wow!!!

Zoe, you post the feedback form after we've already seen it and rejected it? I've asked you multiple times if you post anything other than this form or lock threads, so you are an AI arent you?
