Nest Protect - can't add to Google Home, won't send push notifications

I've had a Nest Protect for several years now. It worked great and sent me push notications, until I migrated my Nest account to my Google account.

Since then, I do not receive push notifications on my phone from the Protect. I've tried adding the Protect to my Google Home, but have not been successful. I've read on a few forums that you cannot add the Protect as a device in Google Home and it must be controlled from the Nest application?

 

I've tried all the troubleshooting tips that I could find online. The Nest app and Home app are both under the same home/email. I've ensured both apps are updated. I've done a factory reset on the Protect and added the device under the Nest app. The notification settings are properly setup in both Google Home and Nest app.

 

Any other suggestions?

Hey Mastachobo,

 

I'm sorry for the delay and trouble. Let's see what's going on — could you tell us the type of Nest Protect you have (wired, battery)? What's the status light of it? Also, were you able to check the Do Not Disturb settings in the Google Home app? Learn more here.

I have the same problem. And can you tell me why Nest Protect is not added in the Google Home supported devices yet? It's been a long time the account migrations was done and we were left out without being able to add our Nest Protect devices in Google Home. All other Nest products can be added but not the smoke detectors!! This is ridiculous.

I’m sorry to hear about your experience. Accessing your Nest Protect in the Home app isn’t available, for now viewing and controlling your smoke alarm can only be done in the Nest app.
