Hi, purchased my nest protect 2nd gen in Nov 22. Received a low battery beep today and wen to check it out. One of the batteries was extremely, extremely hot to touch. Tested all 6 batteries and 5 were at 1.7 volts and the super hot one was .3 volts. I saw a few other posts on here in regards to this but I can't really tell what the outcome was.
I submitted a form at SaferProducts.gov as I feel this could have been a disaster waiting to happen.
I'm certainly not going to put this product back up but curious if there was ever a recall or anything on these units?

Same issue here. Purchased two Nest Protect around the same time. Today one was chirping when I arrived home from work. Mobile app was telling me that the batteries were dead. I went to replace the batteries and three of the six Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries were scorching hot and almost burned my hand. All three hot batteries were on the right side of the Protect battery tray. Not wanting to burn my house down I checked my second Protect and it was showing the same issue, with all three batteries on the right side of the battery tray.
I filled out the form linked above.
