Nest Protect non-wired shows Power Out

Nest Protect shows Power Out.  I tried to manually reset with the Protect Device Button per instructions, but it still shows Power Out.  I can access Protect from my phone App to test successfully, but the App still shows Power Out.  My concern is the Protect will not alert me of a fire if I am travelling.  Does Battery Only Protect always show Power Out?  Any suggestions?

I have same problem.  Mine is a battery powered device, but the app says "Power Out" all the time, as if it's a hardwired device.  Don't know how to fix this issue.  I have two other battery powered devices in the house that don't have this problem.  Any suggestions?
