Second time I am posting as Google has closed my last thread on this issue without actually solving the problem….
Bought six of these Nest protects after being marketed the benefit of getting phone alerts and getting notification before full alarm. Purchased 1/8/24 direct from Google store now this morning 2/6/24 (not even a month!) can confirm NO ALERT RECEIVED AT ALL on any devices - all iOS. Of course early morning and for not for any actual fire/smoke/CO!
YES notifications are all set to on. YES internet is working and systems are connected. Again, I set these up less than a month ago with everything showing consistent green.
I see many other threads without conclusion on this topic - is there any plan for this fix???

Have you checked the individual notification settings for the different alarms in the google home app?

There is not a setting to turn off/on this alert type within the next app. My phone settings for this app are on to allow notifications.

The overall lack of responsiveness or support (or even acknowledgement of issues) by Google of these LIFE SAFETY devices shows neglect and reckless disregard and has successfully eroded customer trust.
I think our best bet as a customer base is to make these problems known outside Google, so a trend can be established. Could you please take a moment to report this issue to the Consumer Product Safety Commission at: https://www.saferproducts.gov/IncidentReporting

On my android, apps have a battery optimization setting, where it puts apps to sleep, idk if ios would have this or not, but disabling it for certain apps solved some of my apps not notifying me. Of course not for Nest.
Just thought i'd mention it in case a similar option is on ios.

Just to add that this is also an issue for me. Like others I have deleted and reinstalled the app.
I've only had these for a few days so disappointing that a key advertised feature is non existent

I'd suggest returning them while you can. It sucks to see what was once a great product just get abandoned by google as evidenced by the lack of official response here.

I have two Google Smoke/CO detectors and it takes over an hour after a smoke alarm for me to receive a Nest alert notification on my phone. I need to know if there is a fire ASAP if I'm not at home as my autistic son sometimes burns food so that I can contact him to make sure he's OK and to find out if I need to call fire services. An hour delay is not acceptable. Google say its my network but I have a Tapo camera on the front door on the same wifi and it sends a notification in seconds! Also, Google won't refund me.

I'm having the SAME issue. Ring cameras so well for us so I know it's not my phone or wifi.
This feature WAS working until several months ago. What changed, Nest?!
My parents are having the SAME issues with their newly purchased smoke alarms! Come on Nest fix this issue!
