6 of 9 nest protects have had carbon monoxide sensor failures several years before the expiration date. What could be the cause of extremely high failure rate so close together? It’s very concerning.

Hi @Giacomo007,
Thanks for posting here in the community! I understand how inconvenient it can be when your Nest Protects are showing carbon monoxide sensor failure! I'd be happy to help with your concerns.
To better assist you, I'd like to ask a few questions:
For now, let's run a Safety Checkup to see if the sensor failure persists. During the checkup, listen for all Nest Protects to announce the test and watch for their LEDs to activate. Since they're interconnected, this will test all the devices in your home. This is a great way to confirm the speakers and horns are functioning and audible. For more, you can check out this article: Learn about Safety Checkup.
I also recommend cleaning the Nest Protect. Like any smoke alarm, dust buildup on the outside or inside of Nest Protect can stop it from working properly. You can refer to this article about how to clean your smoke sensor: Clean your Nest products.
Please keep me posted.
Best regards,
Jenniffer
