Nest Protect pathlight WILL NOT WORK!

I have tried and tried and tried to get this nest protect pathlight to work on two different nest protects and no matter what I've tried it will not work. I don't want to hear about too much light, because this happens in a pitch black setting. I can even set these stupid things to ALWAYS ON and it STILL won't turn on. 

I have already factory reset both. Re.oved them from the app, factory reset and the added back to the app. Ive tried everything i can find online to make this thing work and it wont. One protect is brand new and replaced a protect that used to have a pathlight that worked flawlessly and prematurely died years before it's expiration date. 

I'm about done with this junk!

• Where is your Nest Protect located?
