Nest Protects keep chirping with zero other info

I've had 3 Nest2 Protects installed about 4 months ago. Suddenly 2 started chirping. There is NO other message. No bad battery message, nothing. The app shows they are fine. Did multiple tests, says all OK.  But they won't stop chirping. Replaced battery in one, no change except now that one is offline but still chirping along with the other one.

I guess we will try brand new batteries. Other than that, does it just mean these are bad units??

  • Are all your Nest Protects experiencing the same issue?
  • What color is the status light?

For further troubleshooting steps, you can refer to our guide on Nest Protect lights and sounds, please follow the part; Battery chirps and expiry chirps. After reviewing the guide, you can try performing a factory reset to erase the data settings and see if that resolves the issue.
