Nest protect spoken languange

I can not change the spoken language to Polish because it does not exist. Can I manually replace the English files somewhere to upload Polish sounds myself (when smoke is detected, etc).?

I’m pretty sure that level of customisation isn’t supported. it could be open to mistakes (imagine mistakenly using the wrong file - announcing “all clear” when there’s actually smoke detected.)

Due to that, I don’t think you’ll be able to use any languages other than those which are pre-installed.

We hear you, @Adrian_Pla. We're always looking for ways to improve our products, and we'd appreciate it if you could share your feedback. Currently, Polish is not yet supported, but I did find a helpful article with the lists of available languages spoken by the Nest Protect.

Generally, I know that Polish language is missing here, which is a bit strange because when it comes to Nest Protect, we are talking about just a few words plus hints during configuration. If I cant choose my language, It should be able to upload my own translation lang files pack. On the other hand, for example, there is an Android Auto in Polish, so why not Nest Protect. I use a lot of Your products and I am a bit disappointed with the approach to the topic and the lack of translations into Polish.

I guess Android Auto isn’t relied upon to tell you if your house is on fire.

it all come down to safety. A product that provides a genuine “life or death” response will never hand over control of the critical warnings to the general public to upload their own version.

Google provide pre-installed language packs exactly for this reason. I do understand your frustration that Polish isn’t one of them!

I'm sorry for the delayed response, and I appreciate your patience.

@Adrian_Pla, I understand your frustration with the limited number of languages supported. We value our customers' input. I'll bet other users would love to have this feature too, and I'm hoping to have full functionality anywhere in the world. Please keep an eye on the Google Nest Community page for any updates.
