Hello, new to this product. I have been using Google Home to control smart lighting and power for some years, but have just bought a Google hub (2nd gen). I managed to set up new rooms, and migrate all my old devices onto it, that works fine. I then bought 3 google smoke & CO2 detectors. I followed the instructions and loaded Google nest onto my android phone, and managed to set the 3 devices up ok. Then the issues started, I cannot connect to Google Nest through Google Home, it just says passed or username is invalid. I have changed my Google password, but it still does not lets me pair these devices with each other, Thanks

Hey there,
Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to drop in here to help.
I understand that these issues can be confusing but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.
Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?
Please let me know.

Hello Garrett
Many thanks for jumping on this for me.
I will need to start again from scratch and document the issues that I see on the screen
When I load the smoke/CO2 units, I can see them in the nest app, but I cannot get google hub to add them to my home by rooms. It allows me to select nest from the pick list of apps it can talk with, then stops.
I will document it over this weekend.
Many thanks
Alan

Hello Garrett
I opened the google nest app
Scanned a QR code on the base of 1 smoke/CO2 detector
Gave it a location
woke up device
connected to my wifi router
device set up
added device to my nest account, no issues so far
opened HOME app
+ set up device
works with google
opened search, found nest
asked if I wanted to lInk your nest account
link
asked me to sign into nest
Entered my email & google password
Come back with "your email or password may be incorrect"
last time i tried to link them, i changed my google password, that did not help
Hope you know a solution
Many thanks
Alan
