I bought 6 Nest Protect devices 4 months ago, and one of them already proved defective (went offline). Google Support determined that it needs to be replaced, and sent me a replacement device that is 3 YEARS OLD. Its entire service life is 10 years, which means you "steal" 3 out of 10 years from my device. This is inappropriate.
When I bought my original 6 devices, I chose them to make sure they're all recently manufactured. I haven't opened the replacement device - I would like it replaced.
I contacted Google Support again and nothing is happening. They promised me a reply in 24-48 hours, but 2 days have passed and I have not heard back.
Please replace this old device and don't rob me from 30% of its usable life span (3 out of 10 years total) !
