Hello rivertonbob,

I understand your frustration with the Nest Protect connectivity issue. It's certainly concerning when you receive a notification about the absence of a monthly check-in and the device shows offline. Let's troubleshoot this together.

Firstly, make sure your Wi-Fi network is functioning properly. If other devices are connected without any issues, here are a few steps to help you address the Wi-Fi connectivity problem:

  1. Ensure that your Nest Protect is within a reasonable range of your Wi-Fi router. Obstructions like walls and large furniture can weaken the Wi-Fi signal.
  2. Press the button and let us know its response. This will help us understand its current status.
  3. Turn off your Nest Protect, wait for about 10 seconds, and then power it back on. This simple step often resolves connectivity issues.
  4. If the device still doesn't connect, you may need to reset the Wi-Fi settings on your Nest Protect and set up the connection again.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,
Mark
