Protect keeps disconnecting from WiFi can't reconnect without scanning QR

My nest Protect keeps disconnecting from WiFi after several months. Since I have several of them this is starting to become to time consuming and there seems to be no way to reconnect them without scanning the QR. As they give an error when updating network.

This is really a horrible user experience. Aswell as the interface to update the network, as it lacks any feedback or flexibility. Could you please advice on a different strategy or workaround?

Hello Tebs,

Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues with the Nest Protect. Let’s check it out.

If you haven’t done so already, please try the steps from this guide to help you troubleshoot when Nest Protect disconnects or is offline.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Lance

Hey everyone,

@Tebs, it was my pleasure! Just circle back to this thread if you still need help with the Nest Protect in the future.

@bobpat, thanks for joining the discussion and sharing your thoughts. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues with the Nest app. Please make sure that you have the latest version of the Nest app on your phone or tablet. You can download it from Google Play or the Apple App Store. To make sure you have the newest version, you can uninstall and reinstall the app.

After you install the Nest app, manually test Protect's network.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Lance

Thanks! I have already demounted and reconnected the Nest Protect. I will try the manual reconnect option next time this happens and report the results back here.

Kind Regards,
