Replacement under warranty

Our Nest’s red light and smoke warning won’t go off. It was triggered by steam. There is less than a month left on the warranty but every time I go through the process to make a replacement claim I get the message

Sorry, this page can't be found

Any advice please.

Thanks

Hello _cc_,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble filing a warranty claim for your Nest Protect. Don’t worry; help’s here.

I’d like to dig deeper into this. What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far? Have you already tried to silence the Nest Protect?

If you haven’t done so already, you can check out this guide to learn about Steam Check and change settings.

Keep me posted.

Best,

Lance

I put the batteries back in a few days ago. The alarm went off and the red light came on.

I tried the same thing today. Just a blue light and no noise.

Pressed the device’s main button to check for alarms, smoke and carbon monoxide. All fine.

Turned the steam check off on the app.

But the app was still red and reading “smoke”.

Updated the app and it’s still red and telling me there is smoke.

Please advise how to fix the app. Thanks.

Hi there,

I'm barging to make sure everything is covered here.

Thanks for the help, Lance.

@_cc_, we appreciate you taking the steps from the suggested article above. One more thing to add: in which part of your house did you install your Nest Protect, and have you tried moving it to a different area? Also, have you had a chance to perform a factory reset on it? If you haven't yet, please give it a shot and add it again in the Nest app.

Let us know if that helps and makes a difference.

Regard,

Mark
