One of our NEST Protect devices was reporting as offline. Tried to get it recognized by the system to no avail. Decided to delete it and reinstall - the usual fix. Removed it from the system but can't complete adding it back in - I keep getting the error when the app tries to reach out to an existing device and can't connect error P.024 - restarted the router and that was suggested. Read a comment about creating another "house". Did that and manually add the wifi etc. and worked first time no issues. So I have a work around, but would like to have one "house" not two. Clearly the unit works and there is no problem with the wifi. It appears to be with the app seeking the info for an installed unit. Any suggestions? Thank you!
P.S. Also have one unit that keeps telling me it can't verify the voice. Yet it tells me it in "its" voice - and when you hit the button it reports the error then switches to the ready message. Ironic.

See all the threads below - you are in the same situation that many of us are. I suspect that all Nest Protect users currently have apps that do not speak to their protects -i.e. can't run a safety check off the app. Its just that they have not noticed it and will not notice it until they change their router or have a network outage or need to add a new protect. At that point Google will say that all of America has terrible wifi providers whose routers just aren't ready to talk to their devices rather than "we did something to break our app, and we have no idea what that is"
