Trying to add a new wired Nest Protect to my existing network--which is using Google mesh WIFI. Have tried everything I know but keep ending up with connectivity error P017 (0.65). I have numerous Nest devices running inculding thermostats, door bell, cameras, and 2 other Protect units. Aware of 2.4ghz issues using Google mesh wifi and have tried both distance trick from router, as well as setting up phone hotspot (max. compatibility selected) with same network name and p/w to try and force connection using 2.4ghz--but so far no success. If i look at my existing Protect devised they show connected at 2.4 ghz but cannot seem to get the new one to connect.
Any other ideas.

Hi @501,
Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear you're running into a P017 (0.65) connectivity error trying to add a new wired Nest Protect to your existing Wi-Fi network. I understand that this could be frustrating, especially when you already have several Nest devices, including other Protects working well, and you've already tried common troubleshooting steps. I'm here to help.
The P017 error often indicates a problem with the Nest Protect connecting to your Wi-Fi network. Let's focus on key steps that can help resolve this specific issue, especially for a new wired unit.
Key Steps to Connect Your Nest Protect
1. Confirm Nest Protect's Light Ring
2. Position Nest Protects Closer Together
3. Move Nest Protects Closer to Your Wi-Fi Router
4. Reset and Restart for a Fresh Start
If you've attempted to pair your Nest Protect multiple times without success, you can clear the memory for both the Protect and the app by following these steps, which will provide a fresh start for setup:
Please try these steps carefully, and let me know the results. Your feedback will help us figure out the next best steps to get your new Nest Protect connected!
Regards,
Kevin

Done all of this already, and unfortunately doesn't seem to make any difference. Same error keeps coming up: P017 (0.65)

Hi @501,
Thank you for your response. Let's work together for a solution.
Please follow these steps carefully:
Press and hold your Nest Protect’s button.
After a few seconds, your Protect will reset to its factory default settings.
Once the factory reset is complete, you can then proceed with the setup process again through the Nest app or Google Home app to add it back to your account.
Please let me know if you have any questions or how this process goes!
Regards,
Kevin

Done that too numerous times with no success.

to the experts out there: I determined the problem exists only with "newer" Google branded Protect devices. I was able to take an old "Nest" branded one (that had been removed and reset) and add it back to the system. Easily and immediately connected. Unfortunately, the old Nest branded one only has a few service months left before reaching the 10 year limit. Any ideas on how the Google, branded one differs from the Nest one on a technical basis that will allow me to connect it the existing network?
