nest protect.

it won't connect to my wifi.   I have 3  and all show offline  after working for years.   I tried to reset one to factory setting and now that one I can't add it to the app.    when I try to add it.  shows my nest doorbell cam  the other 2 are on the app as offline      mine all wired/ with battery backup  I recently changed my home wifi to T-Mobile for home   and yes I have restarted my router ... still not working.    all my other items   cameras/ Alexa etc.   nest thermostat  working fine...

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues with Nest Protect. I’d be glad to help you.

 

A few questions: what is the color of the status light? Are you seeing a message on the Nest app?

 

Let’s try the troubleshooting steps below:

 

  1. Open your mobile device's Settings > General > Date and Time. Tap Set Automatically, toggle it off, and then turn it back on. Make sure that the time zone, date, and time are correct.
  2. Make sure the Nest app has permission to use the phone's location.
  3. Check for any updates for the Nest app in the Apple App Store. The latest version is 5.75.
  4. Check for any iOS updates and install them if there are any.
  5. Uninstall the Nest app, restart your mobile device, and then reinstall the Nest app.
  6. Move the Nest Protects and mobile device closer to the router.
  7. Set up Nest Protect with the app.

thanks for the reply.  I have tried all of those steps.   and they are still off line
