Hi @Ricky0161,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. You're right, the Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation (Nest 3rd Gen Pro) doesn't have a direct "turn on for a set amount of time" option. However, you can achieve a similar effect using the scheduling feature in the Nest app. Here's how:

Using the Nest App for Scheduling:

  1. Open the Nest App: Launch the Google Home app on your phone or tablet.
  2. Select Nest Thermostat: Tap on the icon for your Nest 3rd Gen Pro thermostat.
  3. Schedule: Locate the "Schedule" section within the Nest app interface.
  4. Create a schedule:
    • You can either choose a pre-set schedule (e.g., home, away, sleep) and adjust it to your needs.
    • Alternatively, you can create a custom schedule from scratch.
  5. Set Time and Temperature: For each time block in the schedule, set the desired temperature you want your home to reach.
    • Let's say you want heating on from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Set the temperature for that time block to your desired heating level.
    • You can create multiple time blocks within the schedule to reflect your typical heating usage patterns.

Don't hesitate to let me know how it goes. Thank you.

Regards,

Mario.

That's not great

Its 4.24 in the morning here and lets say I woke up and it's cold and I want the heating on for an hour I can't just set it for one hour

I guess i will have to return my featureless device

That's really shocking that

Hi @Ricky0161,

I completely understand your frustration. Waking up cold in the middle of the night is no fun, and ideally, you'd want a quick way to adjust the temperature for an hour. I apologize that the steps didn't work for you and if you want to return the Thermostat it's okay but I would like to continue helping you with your issue, in this case to get better assistance I would like you to fill out this contact us form to take a look to your case further and give you a faster resolution.

Regards,

Mario.
