3rd Gen Heat Link is dead

sherranzg
Community Member

Hi all,

my 3rd Gen Heat Link is dead. It was installed around 2022 with no issues during these years but today i realized in the learning’s screen the H71 error.

I checked the heat link and seems to be dead even electricity comes to it from the boiler.

i checked the cables and restarted the boiler but the heat link is totally unresponsive with no lights at all.

Any idea?

thanks!

Hi there sherranzg,

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

Since you've tested the power on the Heat Link's wires and it doesn't seem to have any power, I suggest filling out this form. This will allow my team to gather more information and determine the best course of action to get your thermostat working again.

Please let me know once you've filled out the form. I'll be keeping an eye out for your response so my team can reach out to you via email.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Angel.

Assuming you have checked power to the L/N terminals, and confirmed all protection fuses/switches  etc are OK, a component has failed inside the Heat Link. You either need a new Heat Link, or get that one repaired. You can’t buy direct from Nest/Google, but eBay might help you. Where in the UK are you?

Hello Frustratedddd,

yeah, i was assuming that a replacement/repairing is going to be needed because i performed those tests without success.

I’m not in the UK but Madrid (Spain). Maybe I used an incorrect community to post this topic… apologies in advance is that is the case.

kind regards

Yes the issue you have is well know for years, assuming the Heat Link worked fine then just stopped. The part for repair is less that an euro, but obviously you have to fit the part.

I can repair or replace the Heat Link, but being in Madrid makes life a little more complicated, hence asking where you are.

oh, what a shame on google haha.

is there any guidance on how to fix it? I'm not an electronic engineer but some handy 🙂

Many thanks in advance!
