I'm sure I have tried everything, but I cannot get the 3rd Gen Thermostat to connect to the 3rd Gen Heat Link.
I've never got this working personally, the system come with the house when I bought it and it was already factory reset. I know it was working for the previous owner before he reset it though.
Now, the Link just pulses blue, I believe that means its ready to pair, but no matter what I do the Thermostat just won't find the link and the H71 error remains.
To clarify, the Heat Link is slowly pulsing blue, I have never ever seen a yellow or green light, only pulsing blue. Here is what I have tried:
1. Held down the Heat Link button for 20+ seconds, the light goes out, then pulses blue fast and it is factory reset.
2. Selected the reset pairing option on the Thermostat.
3. Selected the check again option on the Thermostat.
4. Selected the change heat link option and entered the code on the bottom of the heat link
5. Held down the Thermostat screen for 10+ seconds to reboot that
6. Reset the Thermostat and entered all details again
7. Tried with WiFi off
8. Tried with WiFi on
9. Had the Thermostat right close to the heat link and powered the whole time
10. The heat link is working- one click of the button powers both green lights and the heating comes on.
I've tried all the above and in numerous orders multiple times. But no matter what, the blue light always pulses slowly blue and the thermostat just cannot pair with the heat link and remains on the H71.
Anything else I can try? Happy to try anything now.

Edit- I have also tried with both the WiFi on or off/ neither works

First thing to check is the 6 digit code. You say you entered the numbers from the bottom of the Heat Link cover, also check these numbers match the numbers found by the left hand fixing screw. Sometimes the lid gets changed for the wrong one. The fixing screw is the main numbers you need. Should that be correct, press and hold the Heat Link button for 35 seconds plus, do not release the button until a steady pulsing blue light appears. Do not release if you see a light pulse before keep pressed for 35 seconds plus, then and only then release. Do that twice. Then do as you have Replace Heat Link and enter the correct code.
Search this forum and you will find many times I have explained this correct method, and also a work around.

Thanks for this, I took off the plate and the cover matches the internal number.
But I am still getting heat link connecting going round and round and then saying failed.
the blue light slowly pulses at me but won’t pair.

OK you have the thermostat confused, probably by the amount of resets you have done. First check the battery voltage, you need that up in the 4.8v ish, no lower than 4.7v. Remove from base and plug micro usb into the rear of the display for an hour or so, that should boost the battery if a little if low.
Then Try this before we go any further. Remove the display from the stand/wall, and squeeze the display like a hamburger! Keep squeezed until you see the screen go black and a Google logo will appear, then and only then release. Do that twice. Reset the Heat Link like you did and again twice. After both have been completed the try to pair with the Replace Heat Link using the 6 digit code.
I assume you have the display on a stand, correct?
