3rd gen nest thermostat not starting boiler

Hi, I have just installed a 3rd gen nest thermostat and wired it as the wiring diagram states but it won’t turn the boiler on for central heating or hot water. When I turn a hot tap on the heat link clicks but the boiler doesn’t fire up and also when I turn the heating on via the app or thermostat the heat link clicks but the boiler doesn’t start up. Any help would be much appreciated as my wife and children aren’t happy with me!

I was playing about with the boiler and noticed the pump wasn’t running. Found some old flex in the door and as I shut it after fitting the thermostat it shorted the board where the pump cabling plugs on. New board and all good now.
