My nest updated to 6.2-27 today and now it can not find any network. I have restarted and rebooted the thermostat and my modem several times. Nothing.

And here also mine has updated and now no WiFi network found, restart-reboot does nothing to solve this issue. My living has not updated and it’s working fine. What’s fix here?

I'm having the same problem, Called Google and they are sending a replacement. It's frustration though.

Thanks for your reply. Please share the phone number you called to reach the department at Google who can issue a replacement.

You will have to go through troubleshooting with Google support. It was determined the battery wasn't charging. Thermostat is still under warranty. 1-855-469-6378

Thank you! Will do.

I think I’m having the exact same problem. Software updates at 2am this morning and no it says it’s not getting power.

Not sure when it updated, but mine is at that level and I am stuck on W5 with an RMA coming. Does it kill the WiFi chip or is there no way to update it once it's got this bad version?

For mine, ends up it wasn’t the software update. My unit had a plugged drain line and when the drain pan hit some water in it the sensor killed power to the system, so the Nest no longer had a power supply.

Mine is now intermittently saying it can't find wifi or giving me error w2. This morning it said it couldn't find the network but then when I went to network settings, my network was the only one it showed at all until it connected.

I got my RMA yesterday and it's up and running fine but its software is at only at 6.2-22, will it eventually load 6.2-27 and cause my new Nest to lose the network again?

I just had similar Wi-Fi connection issue plus also losing connections to my remote nest temperature sensors.
I was able to resolve the issue by resetting my Nest Thermostat to factory default setting. The software version remained at latest 6.2-27. after factory default.
I took the followings steps:
1. Removed the devices from my Nest account. In my case using iOS Nest app.
2. While Nest Thermostat is still plugged in and powered, dial to Settings - Nest App - Reset - Factory Default
3. After reset, using iOS Nest App, follow the steps as if adding a new Nest device.
Note: Unfortunately, this will reset Nest past temperature, it’s e-Learning histories, and need to redo schedule. However, a small inconvenience when comparing to having only a hockey puck on the wall.
So far, so good for me.

Thank you, I will give it a try and let you know my results.

I don't think your situation is a match to mine or the OPs. After factory reset my Nest could also see NO networks even though my phone's WiFi analyzer could see my network plus a handful of my neighbors.

6.22-27 update is absolutely a thermostat killer. Since update, BOTH therms will NOT stay connected to Wi-Fi. The App will not respond and sync to the therms. I spent 4+ hours uninstalling and reinstalling both therms and the software; then spent 4+ hours on 2 calls to ‘customer service’ who can see the issue , only to be told I need to buy new Displays at full price to fix. No way. It’s a software/ firmware issue but Google/Nest won’t acknowledge it. I’m moving on to a better company.

Thanks for your reply, Jollygrog. Yes, I will be looking to replace my 2 nests as well, - probably with Ecobee. Google does not take responsible for it's products, at least with Nest.

Same problem….they say buy a new one…..BS

Firmware failures are rampant on these thermostats. Google says to buy a new one after a year and warranty expires. I smell a future class action.

Not sure if the 6.2-27 is at fault but NOW my furnace will NOT shut off or cycle properly!! But after reading these problems I suspect it has SOMETHING to do with it! Its a 2017 model and they're suppose to be rated to last TEN years!!

Hello sefore,
I'm sorry for the experience. I understand that it can be frustrating when your device won't work as intended. But I'd love to help and see what's going on.
A few questions: is your thermostat also not detecting any Wi-Fi network? Since when did you experience short cycling on your furnace? Also, does your thermostat have a C-wire?
I'll look forward to your response.
Regards,
Mark
